About this campground

Overview

Dumont Creek Campground, located near the confluence of Dumont Creek and the South Umpqua River, is a tranquil escape. A short trail leads to a small, rocky beach on a section of river that's perfect for wading. With just three campsites, you won't have to worry about neighbors (unless you count the wildlife, that is).

Recreation

Hiking

Swimming

Scenic Drive/Sightseeing

Facilities

Three tent/trailer sites

Each site has a picnic table and fire ring

Vault Toilet

Open year-round; first come, first serve

Trailers Not Recommended

Natural Features

Visitors to the Umpqua National Forest are often taken aback by the unique landscapes of southwestern Oregon. High Cascades glaciation, whitewater rapids, and explosive geologic events have shaped the distinctive landscape on the 983,239 acres of forest that provides spectacular scenery as well as an abundance of natural and cultural resources.

Verdant stands of hemlock, fir and cedar transition to forests of mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations, while alpine ecosystems dominate high peaks.

The translation of the word "Umpqua," meaning "thundering waters," defines the area. The Forest's waterways and diversity create desirable habitat for many species of fish and wildlife, in addition to providing outstanding recreational opportunities to our local communities and visitors.

Contact Info
For facility specific information, please call (541) 440-4930.
Nearby Attractions

South Umpqua River

Campbell Falls Trail 1587

Deer Lick Falls Trail 1568

South Umpqua Falls

Rogue Umpqua Divide Wilderness Trailheads

Dumont Creek

Charges & Cancellations

This is a Scan and Pay campground.
